Overview

Hack University (“we”, “us”) is a platform for learning to code and breaking into tech. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We collect the least we can to run the platform, and we do not sell your data.

Information we collect

  • Account & application. Your name, email, and the answers you submit when you apply for admission.
  • Learning activity. Course and lesson progress, code you write and run, notes, and forum posts.
  • Billing. Subscription status for premium features. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your full card number.
  • Technical data. Basic logs and rate-limiting signals (such as IP address) needed to keep the service secure and reliable.

How we use your data

  • To run your account, save progress, and deliver features.
  • To power AI tools you choose to use (the tutor, debugging, interviews, and career tools).
  • To process subscriptions and prevent abuse.
  • To send essential service and admissions emails.

Third-party services

We rely on a small set of providers to operate: Stripe (payments), OpenAI (AI features, on the content you submit to them), and our hosting and database infrastructure. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.

Your choices

You can update your profile, export or delete your notes, and cancel your subscription at any time. To request deletion of your account and associated data, contact us and we'll take care of it.
